Pool Decks & Cabanas

Coping, decking, pool-side cabanas, outdoor showers, and shade structures — designed as one continuous piece of the pool architecture, not as separate add-ons.

What this covers

Pool Decks & Cabanas

A pool deck is the frame around the water. Get it wrong and the pool looks small, the entry angles are awkward, and there's nowhere shaded to actually sit for four hours in July. Get it right and the pool + deck + cabana + landscape read as one composed exterior room. We work with the pool builder from the start — same architectural language, same materials, same shade strategy. When the pool is already in, we design around it.

What's included

  • Pool coping installation or replacement (travertine, marble, porcelain, concrete)
  • Pool deck surface + expansion around existing pool
  • Cabana structures — full permitted builds with roof, framing, finishes
  • Louvered-roof shade over lounge areas
  • Outdoor showers, foot rinses, poolside cold-plunge builds
  • Retaining walls, planters, and grade transitions
  • Poolside lighting — under-coping LED, cabana downlights, path lighting
  • Drainage and slope engineering so the deck doesn't puddle

When to call us

The pool is done but the surround looks like the builder ran out of budget

This is common. The pool is the star, the deck is an afterthought, and the whole thing reads unfinished. Retrofitting a proper deck + cabana can transform the space.

You need shade — but not fixed shade

A louvered cabana over the lounge area gives you full shade when the sun is high, sky when it's low, and rain protection whenever. It's the single biggest ROI move for a South Florida pool.

You're planning a new pool and want the deck designed with it

Best case. We coordinate with the pool builder from schematic — coping, expansion, cabana, and landscape become one project instead of three.

The deck is slippery, hot, or cracking

Modern pool deck materials solve all three. Travertine stays cool, porcelain is dead-flat and non-slip, and both look better than exposed aggregate.

Common questions

Can you build a cabana with a full bathroom and outdoor shower?

Yes. Full plumbing, electrical, and finish trade coordination. Permitted, engineered, inspected. Typical footprint is 12x16 to 20x24 for a bath + changing + storage cabana. Larger custom builds get their own architectural design pass.

Do you handle the pool itself?

We partner with pool builders — we design and build the deck, cabana, and landscape architecture around the pool. That's our lane and it's the lane where most retrofits happen anyway.

What about pool safety fencing and gates?

Required by code around any residential pool in FL. We design fencing that meets code without ruining the sightline — usually powder-coated aluminum picket or glass panel with a self-latching gate.
