Design-Build Consultation
Before you commit to a scope — a proper site walk, sketch, and material discussion with the designer who's going to build it. Two hours. Written recommendations. Optional renderings.
Design-Build Consultation
Most outdoor projects go wrong at the beginning — the wrong pergola orientation, the wrong material palette, the wrong sequence of trades, the wrong budget expectations. A design consultation catches all of that before you've signed a construction contract. Two hours on your property with Anthony. Site walk. Sketch on the tablet. Material samples. Budget banding. Phasing options. Written follow-up with photos, references, and next steps.
What's included
- On-site walk with Anthony (typically 90 min – 2 hrs)
- Sun-path and use-case analysis for the space
- Material sample review — pavers, cabinetry, stone, pergola brands
- Concept sketches on-site (tablet-drawn during the walk)
- Budget banding — realistic ranges for the scope discussed
- Phasing options if the full scope isn't doable in one push
- Written follow-up with photos, references, and recommendations
- Full rendering package available as a paid deliverable if you want photorealistic before deciding
When to call us
You have a vision but not a plan
This is what the consultation solves. Two hours crystallizes what's buildable, what it costs, and in what order.
You've been quoted by three contractors and none agree
Usually because none of them designed the project — they each priced a version of what they thought you meant. A design consult produces the single scope the next quote is based on.
You want to do this in phases
Very common — pergola this year, kitchen next year, pool deck the year after. The consult produces a phasing plan so each phase leaves the site usable and each next phase builds on the last.
You're not sure if you're going to move soon
We'll be honest about which improvements pay back on sale and which are purely for you. If the numbers don't work, we'll say so.

Common questions
Do I have to build with you if I do the consult?
No. The consultation is a paid standalone deliverable. Most clients do move forward with us, but you own the notes and recommendations either way.
What does the consultation cost?
A modest flat fee (currently $250, credited toward your first construction invoice if we build the project). Full photorealistic renderings are quoted separately.
How is this different from a free estimate?
A free estimate is a price on a scope you already defined. A design consultation defines the scope. Two very different deliverables — you want the second one at the start of a project, the first one once you know what you're building.
