MOTORIZED SCREENS · SOUTH FLORIDA

Motorized Screens & Enclosures

Retractable insect, sun, and shade screens that disappear when you don't want them and drop instantly when the mosquitos come out. Wall switch, remote, or app.

What this covers

Motorized Screens & Enclosures

The reason people abandon outdoor spaces in South Florida is usually one of three things: sun, mosquitos, or the afternoon rain. Motorized retractable screens solve all three without turning the space into a permanent screened porch you can't open. Full open when you want the view. Full down when you don't. Everything in between at the touch of a button — including wind and rain sensor auto-retract.

What's included

  • Custom sizing to any opening — up to ~25' wide × ~14' tall per screen
  • Insect mesh, solar-shade fabric, or clear vinyl weather panels
  • Motorized retraction — wall switch, remote, home-automation integration
  • Wind and rain sensors for auto-retract during storms
  • Aluminum housing color-matched to the pergola or house trim
  • Zip-track edges that seal the screen so bugs can't slip in at the sides
  • Integration with existing pergolas or built-in during new install

When to call us

Mosquitos have taken over the patio at dusk

Insect screens with zip-track edges create a true bug-free zone without the permanent-porch look. Screens go up and down in ~15 seconds.

The afternoon sun makes the patio unusable from 2–5 PM

Solar-shade screens block heat and glare while preserving the view. You get the space back for the sunset hours.

You want to close the outdoor kitchen off in winter

Clear vinyl weather panels convert an open patio into a wind-and-rain-protected room. Not fully climate-controlled, but usable in temperatures where the open patio would be a wind tunnel.

You're building a new pergola and want screens as part of the design

Best case — screens integrated during the pergola build cost less and look cleaner than a retrofit.

Common questions

How wide of an opening can motorized screens cover?

Single-motor screens typically cover openings up to about 25 feet wide × 14 feet tall. Larger openings get split into multiple panels that operate together. We spec the layout during design.

How weather-resistant are they?

The screen itself and the motor are rated for outdoor exposure. The wind rating varies — most systems retract automatically above about 30 mph. During named storms, screens should be fully retracted (they aren't built to survive hurricane wind loads).

Can I integrate with my smart home?

Yes — most modern systems integrate with Somfy, Lutron, Control4, or work with generic dry-contact interfaces for other platforms. We wire for whatever you already have.
